Since moving to Stokes County in 1992, I have heard that the magnificent mountain in the middle serves as a dividing line in the county, separating the southern communities from the northern communities. While that is true, it sometimes is perceived as the dividing line and, in some ways, an obstacle to equality between communities, we have to learn how to make that work for us. How can we make our greatest asset into our greatest magnet; removing the division, whether perceived or real?
