Sidewalks should be mandatory, and also safe street crossings. Follow Ca law, once pedestrian enters walkway, vehicle has to stop and cannot proceed until ped. has cleared the roadway. This should be enforced! It has become so unsafe to walk anywhere! Use flashing lights at crossings and cameras for violations, same as CA, if need be!

Every area should have a grocery store and restaurant, etc. within safe walking distance. Builds sense of community. In the 60s, you could safely walk from Buena Vista to Thruway, not now! Too treacherous trying to cross 40 on foot, there is not a safe way to cross anymore.

There is no grocery within safe walking distance from West Highlands, too dangerous to cross Stratford or First street. This needs to be changed!

Reevaluate areas. Sidewalks mandatory on all roads. Make crossings safe to get to a grocery or restaurant. Then support walking, with incentives. Continue to plant trees.

Look at Reynolda Rd, at Robinhood, etc. Great area for a reasonably priced family restaurant....
