Our Piedmont Triad region has neighborhoods with high concentrations of lower-income families, many with high crime rates and little access to groceries, services and parks. Some homes were built as mill homes, others were originally built as starter-homes for returning WWII veterans, still others have public housing or other federally-assisted projects.
What can communities in our region do to encourage construction of new neighborhoods that offer housing-single-family, apartments, condominiums- for families with a range of incomes?
