A tax credit for businesses that re-invest a generous share (20%) of net profits to employees, will do many things.
It incentivizes businesses to re-direct some of the wealth it creates to the people who work to create that wealth. This increase in household income (from cash-back profitsharing) increases supply. A general increase in supply increases demand for products and services of all kinds. And job growth follows increased demand. Thus, wealth is decentralized, creating local self-sufficiency.
This is how Profitsharing creates a stable economy. A stable economy creates stability in the marketplace. And investors in the market prefer stability over uncertainty.
The Piedmont Triad could petition state and local government to allow this incubator system to play out for 2-5 years. This would draw industry and businesses from across the country to locate here, without "tax bribes" as seen of late.
It would attract visionary entrepeneurs that want to participate in this new local sustainable economy movement. In clean energy projects, agricultural experimental communities, experimental architecture, etc. or just plain traditional businesses that want to see it work. Here is one letter I received:
Greetings Dr. Smith, I wish to thank you for your efforts to promote profitsharing as a means to increase workers wealth in this new century. In 1954 I worked for a small Mass. company started by a medical doctor who created what he called the Electrocardiograph. He set up a profitsharing plan and everybody loved it. The engineers refined the prototype into a polished state-of-the-art medical insturment. He eventually sold the concept to Hewlett Packard who expanded the market across America and the world. Every company that I worked for that provided profitsharig experienced explosive technological progress on their products, and employees were highly motivated.
