Coal is much more expensive than what we pay for it (and we have a cheaper rate than most of the nation!) and the only way to truly understand the cost is to imagine a magnificent and ancient mountain being blasted and devastating communities in the valleys below. While there are a few solar companies popping up, how accessible and affordable are they? How well advertised are affordable options for people who cannot take a $30k loan only to see it pay off in 5 or 10 yrs? If there are currently no affordable options, what research and pilot programs are being carried out or developing to ensure nonrenewable energy will be attainable for the common citizen?
