Basically I applaud much of the work and motivation behind this project which confusingly goes by many names. Much of the data is solid, especially the demographic trends. A video like this seeks to engage a large block of Piedmont residents — many White, some Black — who do not think dramatic population shifts will alter the social and political landscape because they are unable to imagine it. Frankly, many will be gone by the time the full force of diversity hits the region. Piedmont Together is talking about a future that affects people — many Latinos, many refugees and immigrants, many people of color and many students — now in their teens and twenties and most dialog today ignores them. Piedmont Together could do a great service by seriously funding forums to engage the next generation of Piedmonters. That's serious money I'm talking about, not token change.
