We need to improve the availability and affordability of healthy, local food for everyone. This will help the economy, the environment, and the people of our community. Measures such as growing publicity and sponsorship for our farmers markets and even helping to promote actual farms would be appropriate. I'd like to see large-scale downtown events and fairs to showcase local and organic food. Also, we need programs to help feed the hungry and reduce the amount of food wasted in our area.
